Content

This course will present the global variety of forest ecosystems and their specific management. The ecological conditions, i.e. different climate regions determining the different forest types will be discussed. Case studies will give even more insight into the relations of site conditions, vegetation type and human activities.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The students will develop a basic understanding of the global eco-regions, the prevailing forest types and their ecological and socio-economic relevance.
