Structure of the seminar:
A) Introductory session (MANDATORY ATTENDANCE) (Module 1)
Introduction of relevant rural sociology research topics, theories and scientific journals.
B) Seminar work (Modules 2 to 6) / 5 Appointments
In groups students prepare a paper to the topic of sociology of agriculture and food.
Every student reviews a paper of a colleague.
After following the review remarks student groups prepare the final paper and present it in class.
Submissions for seminar work: research question, Introduction, Conceptual/Theoretical Framework, Methods, Discussion, Conclusion, References, [Abstract], will be specified in bokulearn.
The Introductory session and the Final session are of MANDATORY ATTENDANCE.
Student groups present the final paper in class.
Specific tasks
Writing an agricultural sociology paper on a topic of your choice
Working with agricultural sociology journals
Practicing the stages of a paper writing process
Participating in the peer-review process as a reviewer and reviewee and write a review
Presenting the written work (final presentations of written papers)

Students shall:
+ become familiar with relevant research topics of sociology of agriculture and food
+ learn about important scientific journals and publication practice in sociology of agriculture and food.
+ prepare and present a scientific paper.
