Following information should be included: Title, Institute(s) involved, Supervisor, Advisory team, Background, Aim, Methods and maybe already first Results and Outlook.

Previous knowledge expected

Finished Master degree and the successful acceptance of your doctoral program with a BESCHEID.
Furthermore - please inform aoUniv.Prof. Dr. Marie-Theres Hauser about your thesis project (working title is enough), if you have already the BESCHEID, your main supervisor, the institute you are affiliated and select/prioritize your three favorite thematic groups. Please do also confirm that you can participate in the compulsory welcome and final days.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

A successful participant of the course will understand the common principles and challenges of research at BOKU (the BOKU identity).
He/she will understand the different scientific approaches of the BOKU scientific disciplines to the sustainable use of natural resources, to the definition and management of risk and to the challenges of global change. He/she is able to communicate problems in an inter-disciplinary context to persons of different disciplines.
He/she is capable to discuss and evaluate her/his research in the controversy between freedom of research, engineering, technology and ethics.
