Content

The lecture is an advanced course of selected physiological aspects of grapevine. Thereby the focus will be on physiological disorders which have high economic importance in viticulture and affect grape quality and plant physiology substantially. The topics will be chlorosis and ripening disorders.

- Description and differentiation of different physiological disorders in grapevine
- Environmental effects and causes of physiological disorders
- Effects on plant physiology and grape quality
- Discussion about prevention methods
- Open questions and current research concerning physiological disorders

Students should have passed the lecture VO & UE Weinbau, VO & UE Physiology of Grapevine

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

- students gain knowledge about physiological disorders in grapevine
- students understand the physiological background of these disorders
- students can differentiate between different grape ripening disorders
- students can analyse the effects of ripening disorders on grape quality
- students can analyse the effects of management strategies on physiological disorders
- students can connect and interprate the knowledge of plant nutrition, plant stress and physiological disorders
