BOKU-related topics such as environment pollution, global warming, nutrition etc.:
-Exercises for increasing vocabulary use
-Written and listening texts on everyday and scientific subjects
-Review of complex grammar structures
-Focus on expression and stylistic aspects
Actual written and listening texts will be analysed and discussed. The interactive course requests the pro-active participation of the students, e.g. in discussions. Basic knowledge of grammar is requested ´ difficult chapters will be discussed sufficiently. Expression and stylistic aspects with emphasis on specific rhetorical tools will be the focus of the training.
A part of the course will be conducted in a block session: optional work on a case study or simulation of a global conference (e.g. scientists´ conference). (Presentation!) The project aims to create a realistic talking situation and to practise the oral/verbal/rhetorical and discussion-oriented skills.
