Examples for applications of ecological knowledge and problems arising from missing or wrong ecosystem understanding. 2. Genetic ecology: the diversity of life - biodiversity and basics in ecological genetics; selection and gene flow; speciation and species loss; genetics and resource management; 3. Behaviour ecology; evolutionary arms races; living in groups; reproduction;

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Introduction to concepts in genetic ecology and behaviour ecology as a prerequisite for courses in Management of Environmental and Biological Resources. Of particular importance to students with limited exposure to biology and ecology during High School. Required for Hunting License examination.
