Content

The Presenters Club gives students the opportunity to practice a scientific presentation and receive constructive feedback. Each participant assumes the role of a speaker at least once and the role of a listener several times. The Presenters Club is concerned exclusively with the style and presentation of the presentation and its impact on the audience, and not with questions of content. Gestures, facial expressions and general articulation, pronunciation and presentation style as well as language will be discussed constructively after the lecture. The listeners tell the speaker whether the structure of the presentation is conclusive, the design of the slides clear and concise, the presentation of the data unmistakable and the flow of speech understandable. The collected feedback sheets serve the speaker for critical self-reflection and improvement for future presentations (e.g. at conferences etc.).

Previous knowledge expected

This seminar is aimed at PhD level students ABCM. Ideally, this seminar serves to prepare a first international conference with a presentation by the doctoral student.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
