Within the scope of the lecture series about “Humus“, students gain insight into this comprehensive topic. Selected questions out of the research field of the lecturers comprise humus formation, factors that influence humus formation and degradation, definition, classification, input materials, analytical methods for characterization, microbiology and interaction with plants.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students who attended the lecture series have acquired a basic knowledge and understanding of this complex issue and its diversity. Students have become acquainted with the current humus research and interdisciplinary cooperation of scientists from different areas. They are able to connect basic and special knowledge in this field with practical aspects of agriculture and forestry.
