Function and use of the light microscope, preparation of fresh plant material for microscopic observation. Structure of plant cells, tissues and organs; anatomy of root, leaf and primary and secondary stem. Biology and anatomy of fungi.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Participants will have a basic understanding of the structure of cells, tissues and organs of plants and fungi and are able to identify various tissues and understand their function. Students of this course can handle a light microscope.
