Content: Function and use of the light microscope. Preparation of fresh plant material for microscopic observation. Structure of the plant cell. Structure of tissues: meristems, differentiated tissues (dermal, ground, and vascular tissue). Structure of organs (leaf, primary and secondary stem, primary and secondary root). Metamorphoses of the organs.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences): Participants will have a basic understanding of the structure of plant cells, tissues and organs and are able to identify various tissues and understand their function. Students of this course can handle a simple light microscope and prepare simple samples.
