This course concentrates on various topics of the processing technology in the wood industry, especially on aspects of production and production technology of wood based panels:
• basics
• raw material supply and preparation
• disintegration of the wood structure
• Sieving and classifying
• Drying
• Application of the adhesive
• Forming and preparation of the mat to be pressed
• Press cycle
• Post treatment of the pressed board
• Processing of wood based panels
• ecological aspects

The students will learn about various topics of the processing technology in the wood industry. Points of main effort are the main processing steps during the production of the various types of wood based panels as well as the technological details as part of the modern wood processing industry. Reaching the aim of the course the student will have enough basic knowledge to also evaluate and understand additional informations from various sources.
