Content

We start by producing individual time-frames in the form of Gantt-charts. This chart will contain milestones and deliverables for the specific sections of your publication / project proposal, e.g. Introduction, Material & Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Abstract. Graphs and statistics will be discussed in the group and best figures for publication chosen. Parts of the manuscripts will be exchanged and commented within the group giving you support and feed-back during the writing process.

Previous knowledge expected

You need a data set worth and ready for publication (from your Masters or Doctoral Thesis or PostDoc work) or a clear project idea.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Aim of this seminar is the submission of a manuscript by each participant to a peer-reviewed journal or alternatively of a project proposal in the context of soil and forest sciences. The concept of this seminar is "learning by doing". Writing and publication skills will be refined and the scientific output enhanced.
You can find more details like the schedule or information about exams on the course-page in BOKUonline.
