Biology, symptomatology and epidemiology of the most important tree diseases and pests as well as diagnosis of abiotic diseases on shade and ornamental trees and on trees in coppices and wild orchards; application of differential-diagnostic methods in the field and lab for the identification of factors causing disease; demonstration of measures of disease prevention and disease management

After successful completion of the course, students know the most important tree diseases and pests in urban areas and cultural landscapes (parks, avenues, wind-breaks, coppices, wild orchards) and are able to perform simple diagnosis, using appropriate field guides and identification keys.
