Content

* Identifying the objectives * Data acquisition: which geodata are available, data quality * Field work: acquisition of reference data including GPS measurements * Data preprocessing: data enhancement, georeferencing, corrections * Creating a geographic database: digitzing, managing coordinate systems * Analysing data: geoprocessing * Introduction to digital image processing techniques * Automated classification of satellite images * Presentation and visualisation of the results

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The course is designed to give an introduction how to generate information from remote sensing data and how to analyse these data in a geographic information system. This part of the course is application-oriented and participants will learn to use the relevant techniques and software tools.
