Forest Biometrics and Sustainability The volume and the form of trees Instruments to measure tree diameters and -heights Accuracy of measurements, measurement errors, Regression Analysis Forest measurements in stands, full cruising, sampling in stands (angle counts = point sampling) Measurement and estimation of tree and stand growth

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The student will (i) get insight into the role of forest biometrics as it relates to his future profession, and (ii) learn to use the most common mensuration techniques and to estimate their accuracy.
