Content

The course on Forest Growth and Yield deals with the description of the growth of trees and forest stands (growth-laws). In detail it deals with: Methods in Forest Growth and Yield research Relationships between tree crown and growth Competition, stand density, thinning and growth Stand growth models, how they are built and how they should be applied Growth and yield in mixed species stands and in uneven-aged stands

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The student will learn to understand the applicability and the limitations of different methods of growth and yield research and how to use recent knowledge in forest growth and yield relationships to plan forest stand treatments.
