Content

During the training course, a feasibility study is realized in the field of

- flood protection
- bank and river bed stabilisation
- river restoration
- hydro power

During the tutorial, selection and practice of the hydraulic calculations are done at the basis of the knowledge in hydraulics as well as the conceptual design of hydraulic measures up to the stage of the licencing of the measures.

Previous knowledge expected

hydraulics

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After having successfully attended the training course, the student is able to work out feasibility study in the field of river construction and hydropower plants. Based on the survey of input parameters the possible solutions are described by means of technical reports, drawings but also calculations and allow a final decision based on a couple of reasons. Carrying out this project the student needs to know about hydromechanics, hydrology and the basics of construction elements of hydraulic engineering.
