BOKU-related topics such as environment pollution, global warming, nutrition etc.:
-Exercises and expansion of vocabulary
-Written and listening texts on every day and scientific subjects
-Review of complex grammar
-Focus on expression and stylistic language training
Analysis and discussion of current written and listening comprehension texts. The course will be conducted in an interactive manner, which means that a pro-active participation of students is requested, e.g. in discussions. Basic knowledge of grammar required ´ difficult chapters sufficiently reviewed. Expression and stylistic aspects will be the focus of specific training by means of oral exercise.
A part of the course will be conducted in a block session: optional work on a case study or simulation of a global conference (e.g. scientists´ conference). (Presentation!) The project aims to create a realistic talking situation and to train specifically the oral/verbal/rhetorical skills as well as those of discussion.
