Understanding the goals of habitat and river landscape assessment, becoming familiar with assessment methods on different spatial scales, getting to know different international/national assessment methods
Fieldwork: Application of different methods on small scale in groups of 4-5 students
(1) Assessment of river-floodplain system: identification of aquatic and terrestrial habitats (2) abiotic parameters: flow velocity, water depth and substrate pattern (3) biotic parameters: vegetation
