Fieldwork: Application of different methods on small scale in groups of 4-5 students
(1) Assessment of river-floodplain system: identification of aquatic and terrestrial habitats (2) abiotic parameters: flow velocity, water depth and substrate pattern (3) biotic parameters: vegetation
Data input, data analyses and documentation

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

•Explain different national and international hydromorphological assessment methods
•Identify key-habitats of river landscapes for hydromorphological assessments
•Apply hydromorphological assessment methods in the field by using various techniques and instruments
•Plan, prepare and realise an areal field mapping with data input and analyses
•Analyse hydromorphological data sets with GIS
•Evaluate hydromorphological data sets with regard to specific assessment goals
•Propose suitable hydromorphological monitoring methods for specific monitoring goals and spatial scales
•Present the assessment results
