Mathematical and statistical methods for the Master programme Biotechnology, by elaborating on and expanding the mathematical and statistical topics of the Bachelor programme Food Science and Biotechnology.
- Previous knowledge expected

Knowledge in basic mathematics and statistics as from the completed Bachelor programme Food Science and Biotechnology or equivalent. Additionally, previous knowledge of statistical methods and their application in R are required, these can be obtained in courses like "First Steps with R" (851016) or "Statistics with R" (851309).
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Ability to solve complex mathematical calculations (using mathematical software), to handle and analyze measured data, practical questions and problems in a senseful statistical way (using statistical software) and to judge the achieved results in a correct way.
