Content

- Overview to the international history of landscape planning with the most important profession representatives. Contextualization with the economic / social conditions in periods of development; from the land improvement and garden art in advanced civilizations (Egypt).

- Feudal garden planning´s (Schönbrunn, et al.) and the return of the orders in the garden monument conservation and the event planning.

- From the land embellishment and the beautification of the field to the landscaping.

- Roman rural management in Austria as a planning target.

- From the economic landscaping by the reign. Village and town foundations, organization of the field, the infrastructure etc...

- The modern age and the new task fields: Land improvement and horticulture of the 20th century (L. Migge et al.).

- The Postmodernism and the EU-project sceneries in the 21st century; location developments and settlement construction in the fascism.

- Profession representatives of landscape planning.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The lecture has the aim of a critical processing of a reflective contact with the history and with the stories of our profession – the profession history of landscape planning. The orders of landscape planning can be seen as images of the economic and social questions and solutions of the respective time and with it also of the social positioning. An expert and critical education is also based on historical knowledge and self-confidence with the perspectives.
