Content

The course imparts basic German grammar, such as verb conjugation in present tense, personal pronouns, possessive pronouns, definitive and indefinitive articles, singular and plural forms of nouns and modal verbs.
Basic vocabulary and topics are studied and discussed, including:
-Giving information about yourself
-Home, family, filling in forms
-Asking and obtaining information
-Leisure, hobbies, preferences, interests
-Restaurant / Shops
-Time / Numbers
-Objects of daily life
The course also focuses on cultural aspects of studying and living in Austria.

Previous knowledge expected

This course is for students who speak no German.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The aim of the course is to introduce incoming students at BOKU to the German language and to teach the basics in written and in spoken German.
