- Content
-
A review of mass movement processes in the alpine environment in the context of engineering hazard assessment. Basic mechanics of geomorphological processes like landslides, debris flows, sediment transport, rock and snow avalanches will be discussed. Modeling approaches and simulation tools are introduced.
- Previous knowledge expected
-
Hydraulics, soil mechanics, geomorphology, mountain hazard processes
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
Understanding of flow mechanics of geophysical flows. Knowledge of possibilities and limitation of modeling and simulation approaches.
