Definition of risk, hazard, vulnerability and loss. Aspects of integrated flood risk management and prevention strategies (structural measures like dams, retention basins versus non-structural measures like flood forecasting, flood event management, public participation, risk mapping and land use management).

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Flood risk assessment and methods of integrated flood risk management. Loss and damage functions. Structural and non-structural measures. Role and responsibilities of public administration (decision makers), hazard prevention teams and stakeholders in the pre and post management of flood risk
