Content

Population dynamics of forest insects - key-factors for the occurrence of forest insects - factors responsible for dynamic processes of forest insects - control mechanisms in population dynamics - epidemiology of important forest pest species and their natural enemies. Complex diseases - development and damage of phytophagous insects, - reasons for die back of oak, pine, spruce and fir trees. Principles and strategies in forest protection (chemical, technical, biotechnical and biological measures) - therapeutic forest protection - protective forest protection - preventive forest protection - accompanying forest protection measures (monitoring, prognosis)

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Knowledge on important forest pests and damages caused by them, possibilities to prevent and control damage.
