Content

This seminar is a PhD and master student seminar for students attached to the Department of Nanobiotechnology (primarily the Institute for Biologically inspired materials), and performing practical or theoretical work at the department. The Seminar provides training in the presentation, analysis and critical discussion of data and scientific material in the field of biologically inspired materials and interfaces. Material that will be treated are both current research work and emerging methodology from the scientific literature. Reaching the course objectives requires weekly participation for at least one semester in the seminar series, where preparation and presentation of material as well as active participation in the discussion of other course participants’ material is compulsory.

Previous knowledge expected

Basic knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Materials science and Biochemistry.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The students will learn to present data and scientific methodology in a seminar format. The students will have acquired skills for critical analysis and evaluation of scientific data and methodology, with detailed knowledge and application to biomaterials, nanomaterials and biointerface science.
