You will learn the basics of the Romanian language through a communicative and playful approach (Memory, Domino, Tell me something ...). The work with hearing texts will train your understanding and you will learn to actively use the language in role games.

Four skills are provided (speaking, writing, listening comprehension and written comprehension).

Previous knowledge expected

None. You have never learnt this language.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

The purpose of this course is to give an insight into basic grammar and to provide the first (active) linguistic competence.

You will learn how to lead simple everyday conversations in Romanian and how to understand conversations that are very clearly and slowly spoken. You will be able to detect single names, words and quite simple sentences (e.g. on signs, posters or in prospects).

You can come to simple agreements, ask simple questions and give answers, as long the topics are very familiar.

You can write a brief and basic postcard (e.g., with holidays greetings) and fill in forms, (e.g., in hotels, names, address, nationality).
You can find more details like the schedule or information about exams on the course-page in BOKUonline.
