The course is structured in three blocks:
1) NARMEE Introduction Day: Overview of main curriculum topics
2) Ecosystems and Natural Resources.
- Terrestrial Ecology
- Humans and Ecosystems
- Managing Natural Resources
- Sustainability
3) Restoration Ecology
- Theoretical introduction to restoration ecology
- Excursion to the Marchfeldkanal (Deutsch-Wagram).
- Preparation and oral presentation of case studies
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Explain basic ecological concepts
- Describe the relationships between humans and ecosystems
- Enumerate different natural resources and connect them with management practices
- Describe the basis of restoration ecology and present case studies of its implementation
