The aim of this course is to write a simple seminar paper (overview paper = "review/survey paper"). The paper has to be handed in by the deadline at the end of the semester at the latest (attention: hard deadline).
The general topic of WiSe 2023 is Digital Transformation in smart forest operations.
Digital transformation refers to the process by which companies change their processes in order to exploit the possibilities of new technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence) and remain sustainable ecologically and economically in the digital age.
Human-Centered AI (HCAI) reconciles new technologies with human values, ethical principles and legal requirements to ensure privacy, security and safety.

The students can write a simple scientific seminar paper (review/survey = thematic overview) and can systematically work on a topic using the Goal Question Metric method. The Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) method can be used as a structure for a scientific review paper. First, a clear goal is defined for the review, then concrete questions are formulated that address this goal, and finally metrics are defined to answer these questions quantitatively or qualitatively. This structured approach ensures that the work remains focused and provides clear insights and delineates a topic in a short, clear, crisp way. The students of WiSe23 thus simultaneously get an insight into the topic of digital transformation in smart forestry - an important topic for the future.
