Lecture series with guest speakers and BOKU-teachers
Organised by the BOKU Center of Global Change and Sustainability
in co-operation with the Environmental Agency Vienna and the ORF, with kind support of the Foundation „Forum for Responsibility“, Germany
Most scientists dealing with global developments agree that the world is heading for major breaks; the major drivers, the character of the breaks and how fast they will occur is, however, a matter of discussion. There is also no agreement on the strategies to achieve the sustainable development necessary to reduce or ban ecological and socio-economic threats. Internationally renowned authors have deliberated their views on some of the most pressing problems and their possible solutions in a 12-book series on Encouraging Sustainability (Mut zur Nachhaltigkeit) published by Fischer Verlag (2007/2008) and sponsored by the Foundation Forum for Responsibility.
