The seminar offers insights into current research in social ecology. Staff members of the institute, PhD students and international guests present results from current empirical and theoretical research in the fields of social metabolism, land use science, environmental history, sustainability transformation, socio-ecological modeling, and others. Following the presentation, methods, concepts, research results and their relevance for sustainable development are discussed.

The seminar is held in English and is aimed at advanced students. Sufficient language skills and knowledge from the field of social ecology or interdisciplinary sustainability science are required.
