This course is particularly for students working on a Master or PhD Thesis at the Institute of Waste Management and Circularity. The focus of the course is to learn the systematic approach to formulate, analyse and evaluate research questions and hypothesis in the field of waste management and technology. The specific topics are related to the individual research content of the theses of the students. The students can discuss in small groups and together with their supervisor the diverse questions and methodological approaches to be applied in their research work. Therefor the students prepare the status quo and progress of their research work and communicate this to the group/supervisor. Moreover, current relevant scientific literature (papers, studies etc.) will be jointly anaylsed and discussed.

After positively passing this course the students are capable of preparing, formulating, analysing and evaluating research questions and scientific hypotheses in the field of waste management and technology. They can develop a scientific concept based on relevant literature.
