Content

The course addresses systematically specific topics, scientific methodology and research questions within waste logistics which are relevant for students in the master and PhD programme at the Institute of Waste Management. The topics are oriented in line with the individual research topics of the participants. Students have the option to discuss their methodical approaches and the wider scientific frame in direct discussion with the supervisors and in group discussions. For this purpose, the students shall prepare the latest progress in their research and present it to the participants. State of the art literature (published papers, recent technical papers etc.) are jointly analysed and discussed.

Previous knowledge expected

Master courses in waste management, ongoing or early stage master thesis or PhD thesis at the Institute of Waste Management

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After completing this course the participants shall be able to prepare a research question in waste logistics systematically and to elaborate and further develop a research plan. From existing literature and available data, the participants can identify gaps in knowledge and research needs related to their individual research topic. From this, they are enabled to formulate working hypothesises.
