Complementing the lectures "Grundlagen der Ökonomie" (731.115) and "Grundlagen der Mikroökonomie" (731.127), the topics covered will be deepened and applied. By means of examples and discussions, understanding of economics, its models and applications is fostered.
A selection of the following topics will be covered parallel to the lecture as far as possible:
- Competitive market, elasticities
- Theory of consumer choice
- Firms in competitive markets
- Consumers, producers and the efficiency of markets
- Foreign trade
- Imperfect competition (monopoly, monopolistic competition)
- Externalities and market failure
- National Accounts (GR), Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Inflation
- Saving and investment, money growth
- Crisis 2008ff, stabilization policy, growth, development
- Previous knowledge expected

Content discussed in the corresponding lecture (731.115) held by Prof. Klaus Salhofer is considered a prerequisite!!
