After successfully passing this course the students know the basics of waste management and the important corresponding legal regulations. They understand the main elements like waste generation and collection as well as waste treatment technologies like mechanically-biologically pre-treatment, waste incineration and landfilling. They are able to apply the gained knowledge and adapt it with respect to specific regional waste management situations and challenges.
