Abiotic agents; biotic agents; infection biology, symptomatology and diagnosis of tree diseases; strategies of disease management (preventive and curative measures, silviculture), disease syndromes (complex diseases); examples of forest pathological problems of international relevance (e.g. forest declines, quarantine); virulence of forest and tree pathogens and resistance of host trees against pathogens.

Based on the lectures in "Botany", "Forest Botany", "Dendrology", "Forest Ecology" and "General Ecology" an overview about important and/or common forest and tree diseases is presented. In addition, general principles of forest pathology will be taught.
