Degradation Chemistry of solid wood
- Previous knowledge expected
-
basic chemistry (organic and inorganic)
basic knowledge in wood anatomy and - biology
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
students have a knowledge about the various aspects of wood chemistry in relation to its structure, biochemistry and chemistry. They have knowledge about the component's properties and how to gain full comprehension of the natural biocomposite wood. The interactions and reactions of woodcomponents as well as the resulting wood properties are understood according to the state of the art. Students have a knowledge about the chemical utilization of distinctive wood components and their modification and the Biorefinery Concept in general
