Implementation of design of experiments (DoE), mechanistic modeling, process analytical technology (PAT) and quality parameters into process development, control, analysis and optimization in contrast to traditional approaches such as one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT). Introduction to the concepts of quality by design (QbD).
- Previous knowledge expected
-
Basic statistical knowledge
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
The students are able to
• explain the motivation on why to use DoE,
• decide when it is useful to choose DoE or stick to OFAT,
• apply the basic math, terms and concepts of DoE,
• rate the different design types and their field of application,
• elucidate the limits and boundaries of the DoE approach,
• name the governing concepts into which DoE can be embedded
