Krippner Group, Summer Semester 2026: Danube Island (working title)
Area of focus: Southern part of Danube Island and New Danube at the intersection with the U2 underground line, a formerly extensively landscaped area where the extension of the U2 in 2020 has increased the intensity of use and thus also changed the design requirements.
In the design workshop, ideas and concepts for potential adaptations of this area will be developed and discussed, taking into account the historical settings. The workshop will focus on analysis (historical design concepts, existing structures, current urban planning situation), concept development and creative processes.
Attendance is mandatory.
Preliminary meeting at BOKU probably in March 2026.
Anticipated date for the one-week workshop: early June 2026.
Further details will follow in February 2026.
TUSCH/LEITNER GROUP, Summer Semester 2026: Seewiese, Steindorf am Ossiacher See, Carinthia
Our project area is the so-called Seewiese in Steindorf am Ossiacher See. We will address issues of public access to the lake and work on identifying the potential for open space on the undeveloped lakefront property.
In the immediate neighbourhood of the Seewiese is the Steinhaus, an architectural icon of the 20th century designed by architect Günther Domenig. We will work for three days in the Steinhaus, where we will also be able to cater for ourselves. Accommodation is planned near the project area.
Preliminary meeting at BOKU probably in March 2026.
Travel to Carinthia on 26 May.
Workshop at the Steinhaus from 27 to 29 May.
This will be followed by an individual supervision session and a final presentation in Vienna.
