- Elementary avalanche rescue training
- Moving in snow covered, mountainous terrain while continuoulsy assessing the avalanche danger
- Performing field measurements within snow (snow profile, stability tests)
The excursion 2026 will take place beginning of April in Galtür (duration: five days).

- Previous knowledge expected

- Being able to ski or snowboard off-piste and to walk up a mountain with either skins or snow shoes
- The previous course LAWI001591 "Snow and avalanches - field methods" has to be completed with good success
-Completion of the course LAWI301602 "Physics of snow" is desirable
