Content

This course conveys the core concepts, theories and practices of regional planning and regional management. Students gain insights into both the theoretical foundations of regional planning from the perspective of regional research and the practical implementation of regional planning and management processes. Different planning levels (EU, Austria, federal states, municipalities) and urban–rural distinctions are analysed. Furthermore, regional policies, governance structures, and work in various regional contexts (urban, rural, peri-urban) are covered. The course aims to enable students to critically reflect on regional developments and to independently develop projects.
