In cooperation with an expert from MA 22 (Vienna’s Nature Conservation Department), students gain practical insights into the planning, implementation, and management of a newly designated Natura 2000 site.
The course centres on an EU LIFE restoration project lasting 6 years. Key topics include restoration measures, management of invasive species, conservation of dry grasslands, integration of nature conservation into an urban development area, visitor management, basic path infrastructure, and monitoring and long-term management strategies.
