- Understand the development of the family tree of fish and the major differences between the different fish families
- Identify and distinguish native and introduced fish species in Middle Europe, both adult and juvenile life stages
- Understand sampling strategies to assess fish species communities especially in large rivers, how to plan comprehensive sampling campaigns given specific research objectives, and hot to apply different sampling methods
