 Presentation, description and demonstration of the biology, epidemiology and control of major pathogens and pests of the major field crops such as cereals, maize, oilseed rape, potatoes and sugar beets.

 Graduates
 * know the biology, epidemiology of the most important microbial and animal pathogens of main agricultural crops, and appropriate control measures
 * identify the main pests of agricultural crops in Austria and their occurrence in the seasonal cycle
 * have sound knowledge of the biology and life cycles of the agricultural arthropod pests, nematodes and pathogens
 * recognize the typical image of a disease caused by arthropod pests, nematodes and pathogens
 * can estimate harmful effect done by animal pests and pathogens
 * rate infestation promoting factors
 * have an overview of possible control measures against agricultural arthropod pests, nematodes and pathogens
