- Content
-
Induced gene expression in plants, quantitative real-time PCR, analysis of reporter construct-driven gene expression and resulting plant phenotypes, subcellular protein localization in plant cells, and confocal laser scanning microscopy.
- Previous knowledge expected
-
theoretical background of molecular biology essential, practical experiences in molecular biological techniques are welcome.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

After completion of this course, students will be able to isolate RNA and proteins from plant tissue. Furthermore, they will be able to determine RNA/protein sample concentrations and will be familiarized with general aspects of gene expression control and its analysis in plants. In addition, students will be capable to perform basics of cell/biochemical techniques, involving Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM), Western blotting and quantitative Real Time PCR.
