The topic synthetic Biology is comprises a rising field in the international community. We will introduce the historical development (f.e. in tethered membrane architectures) as well as the putative perspectives in medical/sensoric applications to be discussed in an interactive modus.
- Previous knowledge expected
-
This lecture will base on fundamental understanding of molecular Biochemistry and basic Analytical methods. The background knowledge for this lecture is biochemistry - the organization and relation between the building blocks of life.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
Since integration of biomolecules into devices is a hot topic in biosensor development, I will introduce the concepts and strategies and some fundamental physics behind concepts to build, characterize and apply synthetic Bioarchitectures. - as well as the advanced, synthetic chemistry, needed here to understand interactions and functionalization processes.
