Content

Wood is the oldest raw and burning material of the humanity. Wood was always used according to the special properties.
A lot of knowledge of our precursors is lost.
This lecture will give an overview on rediscovered knowledge due to historical literature as well as due to analyses of wooden objects from museums. Topics like wood selection (natural assortments or overgrown stumps), wood species selection (not used shrub species) und wood working will be discussed.

Previous knowledge expected

The knowledge will be deepened at the excursion to the Austrian Open Air Museum Stübing.
