Examples in Vienna will be visited and analysed. Street redesigns, parks and urban development projects will be in focus. Planning ideas and concepts will be discussed and open space-specific qualities will be demonstrated.

Students can discuss and identify the importance of public open spaces for a healthy and liveable city. They are able to analyse the design, use and function of different types of open spaces and relate them to the associated planning processes and local requirements.
