- Offered in
- Sommersemester 2026
- Languages of instruction

Working in teams, students develop independent design concepts that integrate landscape architectural planning and design at different scales – from regional planning (IRUB) to detailed object design (ILA). In doing so, they analyse and evaluate the interactions between the different scales and develop innovative solutions that take into account design, functional and sustainability requirements.
The course works in close cooperation with the course:

or new curriculum: + LAWI100111 Modul Theorie und Projekt zu Landschaftsarchitektur
+ Applied Spatial Planning module
.
- Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)
-
• Students can name and describe the basic principles of regional planning (IRUB) and detailed object design (ILA).
• They are familiar with the relevant scales and their significance for landscape architectural planning and design.
• Students explain how design decisions at one scale (e.g. regional) influence design at other scales (e.g. object).
• They interpret the interactions between regional planning and detailed object design.
• Students apply methods of regional planning (IRUB) and object design (ILA) to specific design tasks.
• They develop design concepts that take into account the requirements of different scale levels.
• Students analyse the effects of design decisions at different scale levels and identify potential conflicts or synergies.
• They examine how regional conditions influence detailed property design.
• Students evaluate the quality of design concepts in terms of their coherence between regional planning and property design.
• They assess the sustainability and functionality of design decisions at different scales.
• Students develop independent, innovative design solutions that integrate the requirements of regional planning (IRUB) and detailed object design (ILA).
• They design concepts that take into account the interactions between the scale levels and implement them creatively.
