Content

The students apply Python in a concrete programming project in groups. Students either descriptively analyze data, train and apply machine learning models, or develop an energy system model. First, students will develop their programming project, study potential data sources and methodological approaches. In the second part, students will execute the programming tasks and present the results from their analysis.

Previous knowledge expected

Basis of programming in Python, using the numpy, pandas and scikit learn modules.

Objective (expected results of study and acquired competences)

Students learn
- how to self-organize in groups
- how to develop an interesting, data based research problem
- how to apply basic programming knowledge to solve this research problem
- how to present the scientific process and results in an appealing way to an audience
